Public Domain Image Banks

These banks provide you with a source of public domain images you can include in your classroom presentations and materials.  Don't forget to credit the appropriate source for your images.

  NOAA Photo Library - these images capture of work, observations, and studies that are carried on by the personnel of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

  Earth Science Picture of the Day - this website is a service of Universities Space Research Association.  It features a new picture and summary relating to the Earth Sciences each day.

  NASA Earth Observatory Picture of the Day - includes images about the environment, Earth systems, and climate that emerge from NASA research.

  USGS Multimedia Gallery - includes a collection of videos, photography, and audio.  All items are considered public domain unless otherwise noted.

  Windows on Earth - features photographs taken by astronauts on the International Space Station.  Credit NASA for all photos.
