MESTA sponsors many events throughout the year with the goal of providing professional development and networking opportunities for our members.
MESTA also maintains a presence at other science organization conferences throughout the year, providing our Free and Inexpensive and Rock Shops.
2025 MESTA Events
July 31 - Aug 5 North Shore Lake Superior Adventure
This field conference is an opportunity for you (current classroom teachers will be given early priority registration) to explore the northern Lake Superior coastline geology of Canada with MESTA and relate it to geological events that occurred in the western UP. 2024 MESTA Events
September 7 MESTA Rock Party (Lapeer, MI) Food, Games, Rocks!
Join us for a late afternoon/evening MESTA experience at Eastern Michigan University's Fish Lake Environmental Education Center. Get together with fellow science educators from across the state, share experiences, play games, enjoy a delicious meal, and win rocks! For an extra fee, you can also stay the night (dormitory style lodging) and view the night sky (weather permitting) with Kevin Dehne, and others.

MESTA 2019 Conference
The 2019 annual conference was held on October 4-5 at Mona Shores Middle School (Norton Shores, MI). October 4 was a field activities day and October 5 was a day of classroom workshop activities and the annual organization business meeting (including the election for selected Board positions).
